Our relationships in nature are built on humble grounding, open observation, mindful presence, and thoughtful action

The problem: fly fishing culture is exclusive and primarily informed by the white male cisgendered, able-bodied lived experience

together, we can make more space for each other to be whole.

Instead of being another place where people are othered for not matching an archetype or not feeling they are enough of a singular identity, we can refocus on our inherent belonging. Confluence Collective works collaboratively to remove barriers, support individual + community growth, instigate change and amplify stories more representative of human diversity on the water. We commit to do so with intersectional awareness, and through mutually-determined action, we believe more equitable and impactful change can be achieved in community + for community.

Confluence Collective is a social enterprise and organized as a workers cooperative in the solidarity economy.

What does this mean? We’re community owned + operated down to our very core, because we’re in this together. Our decisions are made collectively and guided by mutuality.

We’re dedicated to complication, intersections, dynamic identities, persistent nonlinear growth, and holding space for all of this as we create the culture of belonging we need to feel whole in the outdoors.

Our work is informed by you

Our work takes multidimensional form because this complicated world requires complicated response. We’re here to support each other through the messy bits, and hold each other to progress.

Confluence Collective collaborates with organizations, brands, social groups, and other outdoor entities beyond traditional sponsorship opportunities. In this moment, our dominant angling culture is exclusionary — we can find ways to learn, grow, and work together to change it.
