Confluence at the Cheeky Schoolie Tournament
Continuing the #StripersInOurHands campaign collaboration with Keep Fish Wet, we’ll be advocating for science-based best practices to catch, handle, and release striped bass over the tournament weekend.
Access Outdoors Summit
The Access Outdoors Summit is hosted by community partners at the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center in Brunswick, Maine in collaboration with Teens To Trails. The summit aims to support outdoor club leaders, school administrators, PE & Health teachers, municipal land trusts, and outdoor experience organizations.
This inaugural event will offer a full day of education, information, and experiential activities. The format offers panel discussions from practitioners and outdoor enthusiasts with cognitive and physical differences - sharing stories, techniques and best practices for both hard and short skills in outdoor leadership that we will then apply in small group settings. Ample time for networking and connecting with specialty providers during lunch, and campfire socializing at the end of the event.
This event will take place both inside and out of doors.

Confluence Rowing Camp
Program and Community Leaders will meet on the Madison River to learn the basics of rowing with particular focus on supporting anglers with mobility restrictions. This learning event is offered in collaboration with Camp Bullwheel.
Participation in this event is offered to collaborators on existing + future programming who will be facilitating scheduled events. If you are interested in becoming more involved with Confluence Collective, please be in touch!
Adaptive Boat Building Camp
Confluence Collective is building adaptive boats to support future programming and ensure every body has access to the water. Learning from Camp Bullwheel, these customized inflatable rafts will be available for Maine-based fishing for the 2022 season with plans to expand access in 2023.
Participation in this event is limited to existing Confluence Collective collaborators and adaptive fishing program leaders. If you are interested in becoming more involved with Confluence Collective, please be in touch!
LGBTQ OUTdoor Summit
Focused on cultivating connections, building community and inspiring leaders from across the outdoor industry and beyond to create more accessible and affirming ways for the LGBTQ community to get OUTside.
Horizons Fly Fishing
Horizons Fly Fishing is offered in close collaboration with the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center, based in Brunswick and Carrabassett Valley, Maine. Weekly sessions will build your skills and knowledge base in fly fishing, working through the mechanics of casting to managing human impact in natural spaces.
This program concludes with a weekend retreat hosted at the Carrabassett Valley Lodge and fishing throughout Rangeley.
Registration for this 6-week beginner fly fishing program is hosted through the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center website.
