Birds + Flies Series
Featuring seasonal warblers you’re likely to encounter in the woods + waters of Maine, this series celebrates classic streamer patterns in playful relationship with birds of similar palette.
Black Throated Green Warbler
Setophaga virens: These birds are known for flitting about, searching for small bugs in the undergrowth and at bases of trees in coniferous and deciduous forests.
Rooster’s Regret Streamer
Designed by Carrie Stevens as a variation to the Morning Glory pattern utilizes a mix of tinsel, bucktail, hackle, pheasant crest, mallard flank feathers, and jungle cock for the eye. This is not the only fly called the Rooster’s Regret given the popularity of using chicken feathers for Maine streamers: Grand Lake Stream guides may have a very different fly in mind with this name.
